Ben-Osy Okoh Sworn-in as New Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineer Abuja Chapter

Engr. Ben Osy Okoh has assumed office as the 7th Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), Abuja Chapter.


The official inauguration of the Eleven-man executive took place at National Engineering Centre Auditorium, NSE Headquarter, on Wednesday, November 16.


Dignitaries at the ceremony included staff and students members of the instutution, the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, MON, former Minster of health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, President of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Anyaeji , past President of NSE, Engr. Charles Aniweta Mbanefo, among others.

Engr. Ben Okoh had welcomed the guests before a speech by the immediate Past Chairman, Engr. Jessica S. Yakwo.



In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman described his new position as “an honour and a privilege to have been formally installed as 7th Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Abuja chapter”.


Engr. Okoh was born in Enugu State and did his Primary school at Artisan Quarters Primary School and Urban Boys’ Secondary School Enugu.


He studied Civil Engineering at Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, and had served the body in different capacities, starting from his emergence as the Publicity Secretary to Vice Chairman before taking the helm of the affairs of the group as the chapter Chairman.
