Less than 18 hours after suicide bombers detonated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at traders praying in Baga Fish Market, suspected members of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Tuesday, stormed the town of Dabiro in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, killing 26 people and injuring 20 others.
TheStreetReporters.com gathered that the insurgents came to the village last night, killing 17 people while injuring many others, only to returned on Tuesday while the people were burying their relations to kill many more.
Dabiro, the home town of the new commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force, Major General Bata Dabiro, was hit by members of the Boko Haram.
It would be the third time, Dabiro, the home town of the newly promoted commander of the Multi-Natioanl Joint Task Force, Major General Bata Dabiro would be attacked by members of the Boko Haram.
A hospital source in Borno State, Usman Malgana, who spoke from the General Hospital in Biu, disclosed that “26 people were killed while 20 are now receiving treatment at the hospital.”
Son of the district head of the village, Yakubu Dabiro, confirmed the incident.
