Jonathan Displaces Obasanjo, Leaves Nigeria for Zambia Ahead of Elections

Nigeria’s former President, Dr.  Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Friday, departed Nigeria for Zambia.

Jonathan Heads AUOM 1He leads the African Union Elections Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the country’s election.

The election was slated for October 11, 2016.

Jonathan by leading such delegation in two successive times has displaced former president Olusegun Obasanjo who had hitherto lead such delegation.

Jonathan Heads AUOM 2Jonathan had also led a 33-nation observer mission to the October 25, 2015 General Election held in Tanzania.

The Street Reporters recalls that former President Jonathan had congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari for his victory in 2015 presidential election in Nigeria even before the final result was announced.

Jonathan Heads AUOM 3He had also promised ahead of the election that his presidential ambition was not worth the blood of any Nigerian, a departure from the seat tight syndrome by most African leaders who would want to remain in power at all cost. Jonathan Heads AUOM 4
