As Nigerians await the announcement of result of the ongoing Presidential election in Nigeria, the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says “Collation of results will begin at 12pm tomorrow.”
The chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega made this known on Sunday while reacting to election results being announced on social media and online newspaper platforms.
He warned individuals and groups to desist from such acts, adding that results will be declared when they are collated from respective states.
“We will declare results when it has been collated from the states.”
“Please be wary of declaration from people who are clearly partisan.”
“We are not under any pressure to declare inconclusive elections”, he said.
Voting continued on Sunday following logistic and card readers hiccups, which slowed down the process on Saturday in many parts of the country.
