It has been confirmed that robbers within the week allegedly burgled the Asaba residence of the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, carting away Jewelries, laptops and undisclosed amount of dollars.
Going by this development, three police men and a driver attached to the Senator and supposed to be on duty on that fateful day had been allegedly arrested in connection with the theft.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka confirmed this development to press men, stating that of a truth stealing of household items took place in the home of the controversial Senator.
He further affirmed that as usual when crime such as this occurs, the first people to either arrest or query would be the immediate staff or family members to ascertain their innocence or otherwise in such a case.
He confirmed that the three police men and a driver were of a truth taken for questioning as part of the routine investigation into the invasion by the robbers.
Perhaps, every attempt to get the Senator to give his view on the stealing incident proved abortive.
Meanwhile, a close source confided in our correspondent that it must have been a premeditated stealing from the Senator’s immediate staff, owing to the fact that he might be owing them or they are being frustrated.
According to him, some staff are always tempted to steal from a boss who does not relate well with his staff or care about their welfare.
